Last night, Amanda’s school hosted Family Read Night.  Kindergarten & 1st graders came w/ their parents to hear teachers (& teacher’s husbands who couldn’t say no when asked to read because their wives do much more volunteering @ their job than they do at their wife’s job) read books w/ few words & a lot of pictures.

A few things I learned:

  1. I don’t have the voice you need to read to 5 & 6 year olds.
  2. Glad to live in a school district that cares about children & families.
  3. Sad that so few dad’s attend school activities w/ their children.
