Geotagging & Facebook

Facebook will soon (next month) allow your status updates to be linked to your geographic location.  Twitter has had this available for a while.  FourSquare & Loopt are the 2 most popular social networking geotagging applications.  However, neither have the 400 million users that Facebook has.

Geotagging being added to Facebook makes me pretty cautious.  It’s scary to me that teenagers would post their physical location to all of their “friends” (or even to the entire world depending on their facebook security settings).

For more on geotagging & facebook check out this NY Times articleThree Facebook Settings Every User Should Check Now (also from the NY Times) is a must for teens & parents.
