Yesterday, I spent much of the day working w/ a group of our teenagers in the neighborhood around Mission 1st.  Our mission was to serve others by taking care of the yards of widows & the elderly.

One of our high school guys organized the day.  He recruited the adults & the teens.  Found the needed tools (mowers, weed eaters, blowers, rakes, shovels, etc.) and the trailer to haul everything.  Pretty impressive.

We cleaned 6 yards.  Met some great folks.  One of which was an elderly couple who had been worried about how they were going to take care of their yard this summer.  I spent much of that visit w/ the gentleman on his front porch along w/ 2 of our teens.  He told them of being baptized in a cow pond in 1940, being married for 59 years, & a few tips on dating (looks ain’t everything, & don’t settle for just anyone).

Here’s a few pictures from the day.  Teens will always make whatever they are doing fun.
