Rundown

Filed under: Youth Ministry — Neil @ 4:56 pm

I’ve completed 2 days of work at fbcj.  Here’s the rundown:

  • I’ve gained about 50 new facebook friends today.
  • We had about 120 teens in attendance last night & seemingly that many parents stop by to meet us.  Very impressed w/ both.  Hoping to remember at least a few names.
  • Excited about Krave!  It’s a conference our student ministry is putting on this weekend.  So far 138 teens have registered.
  • It feels really strange to be having a big youth ministry event & not to really be that busy.  Mike has handled everything.  He did let me pick up supplies for Saturday’s mission projects.
  • Reacquainting myself w/ a pc & mediashout.
  • Looking for a solution for a shared youth ministry calendar.  My preference is google calendar, but you can’t sync it & outlook to an iPhone.  Played around w/ outlook’s calendar, but not crazy about it.  Anyone have a solution?
  • Working on the following projects:
    • youth ministry calendar solution
    • topics for the youth worship services through the end of May
    • Sage Conference; want your teen daughter to attend? email me.  We”ll host it the weekend of May 1-2.
  • There are more employees at fbcj than there were people at the 1st church I served.
  • Enjoying the restaurant choices that downtown offers.  Ate here for lunch on Wed, here for supper, & here for lunch today.
  • 3 years at Parkway = 0 accidents that led to an emergency room visit; 1 night @ fbcj = 1 ambulance trip for a teen to the emergency room.  Thankfully, he was ok.

  1. Neil,
Does FBJC have Novell Group Wise (network software)? MSTC, UMC, and MC use it. The callander on Group Wise can be set up for multiple user access and editing.
