Brief SYATP Reflections

Filed under: Youth Ministry — Neil @ 9:37 pm
  • Amanda’s grandmother died this afternoon.  One of Amanda’s aunts said it well as her mom passed “mom, you’ve finally made it.”  It is a relief for the family in many ways, but still difficult.  The funeral will likely be Friday & the family has asked me to preach the service.
  • SYATP was a good day.  Kids gathered & prayed so it was a success.
  • Good crowd tonight for the city-wide service.  I’d guess somewhere between 300-325.
  • Josh Brister will forever be known as “John” Brister after the band’s introduction tonight by a well-meaning teen.
  • After the worship service Amanda & I ate w/ Josh and the band (Charlie, ‘Topher & Brett).  I really appreciate those guys.  Their great musicians, have great hearts & have a great sense of humor.
  • I’m proud of our teenagers.  They really are a great group of teenagers.
