Genesis 20

Worry is like a fog to our lives. It is made up of very little substance but it consumes us.

Why do we worry?
1. The fear of man.
Abraham moved before god told him to move.  Assumption rather than assurance.  He acted on assumptions.
2. Rationalized Sin
– 1st time seemed successful; just because something is successful doesn’t mean its of God
– Abraham said he only told a half lie
3. Lingered in the flesh.
We hold on to stuff that causes us to worry & sin.
– Abraham didn’t fully trust God.
– caused hardship on others – Genesis 20:18

How to I conquer worry?
1. Realize that worry profits nothing
Matthew 6:25-34
2. Put it on God.
1 Peter 5:7
3. Pray for what worries me.
Phillippians 4:6-7
