Meatball Sundae

Filed under: marketing — Neil @ 9:54 am

Last night I completed Meatball Sundae by Seth Godin.  Its a marketing book.  Marketing isn’t something that I was even remotely interested in (until I began reading Seth’s blog & began to understand what marketing actually is) until a couple of years ago.  I may have actually learned more from this book than any I’ve read in the past couple of years.  I typically read stuff on topics that I’m already familiar w/, but the idea of new marketing (this post is an example of how new marketing works) is new to me.

I ended the book around midnight last night & stayed up another hour or so just writing down my ideas of how to implement new marketing into youth ministry & church in general.  I’ve got a few ideas that I want to try.  I wish I had read Meatball Sundae before leading the workshop a few weeks ago on Utilizing the Web in Youth Ministry.

If you feel like your marketing is out of sync (or if you don’t think marketing has anything to do w/ your job/business) I highly recommend you reading Meatball Sundae.

Seth will be speaking at Catalyst next month & I can’t wait to hear what he says to church leaders.
