Ringo is my grandfather

Filed under: Youth Ministry — Neil @ 1:16 pm

As I mentioned earlier Lisa & I spent the morning at CJHS as a part of “Career Day.”  Each teacher has a speaker in their classroom who tells about their profession.  Then the students go to the gym during one of their classes to tour the different booths of local businesses to learn about all the different professions.  We were formally advertising the profession of children’s minister, but mainly we just talked to the kids.

One thing that I love about jr. high students is that they will believe anything.  One girl had on a Beatles t-shirt which led me to quizzing her on the group.  During the conversation I mentioned that my grandfather was the drummer in The Beatles.  She was quite impressed & said that Ringo was her favorite.

Lisa had to cover her face to stop from laughing during the conversation.  I don’t think creative lying is a valued trait in children’s ministry like it is in youth ministry.
