Coffee Caramel MilkShake-fil-a

The youth group meets at Chick-fil-a each Monday morning for our prayer breakfast.  So, with that weekly visit plus my other personal visits throughout the week here’s what I’m noticing:  Chick-fil-a doesn’t market their chicken sandwich, but rather coffee caramel milkshakes that they added to their menu last week.  Want evidence

  • Last Monday they had an ad on every table in the restaurant advertising the new flavor.
  • Employees visited every table in the restaurant to pass out a free sample (remember this was at breakfast & they are passing out milkshakes)
  • posters on the walls & windows advertising it
  • Highlighted on their drive-thru menu
  • The drive-thru menu has a coffee caramel milkshake attached w/ a springy 3D type thing.  It jumps out at you as you try to decided what to order
  • What’s on the front of their website?  You guessed it.

Chick-fil-a isn’t the only restaurant using this marketing strategy.  Visit McAlister’s and look at their in store advertisements.  You’d think they only sell sweat tea.

Reading Seth’s blog, this blog by Tony, and just me getting more & more curious about marketing has me noticing these type of things.

  1. Hello!
Thanks for your continued support of Chick-fil-A.

We’ve recently launched a new promotion for Chick-fil-A’s limited time Coffee Caramel milkshake – http://www.itlinnertime.com – and thought you might find it interesting.

Check out the videos while you’re there as well.

    Thanks!
