Sermon Notes

My notes from Ken’s sermon yesterday from the 11:00 a.m. worship service:

Acts 4:14-31

Paul did everything he could to keep the religious away from the new believers.

We’ve allowed religion to supercede Christianity.

Verse 17 – we’ve never done it that way before. They were holding on to something that was dead.

What did they do?
V. 23 – raised their voice to God
1. Prayer
We can’t meet every felt need if society.  Why do we spend so much time fighting issues rather than seeking God.
They aknowledged God. That he’s the creator.  That he’s Christ. The most effective prayer us to pray Scripture. They aknowleged Him as King.

They asked for boldness. They prayed for what the religious leaders told them not to do.
They asked for boldness.

What are the results?
Religious leaders were concerned with a place. – Acts 6
Religious leaders hold to evan they’ve had.
1. Shaking
2. Filling- filled with Holy Spirit
3. Spoke the word of God with boldness.
4. Unity- verse 32
5. Power – verse 33
6. Generosity
