Tonight, it was fun having the entire group together. There was an excitement w/ having the jr. & sr. high combined.
We mixed up the format tonight & it worked. It went like this:
- Video – highlights from this school year
- Talk – I stayed within my goal of 12 minutes. I’m learning that it is much more difficult to do a really good message in 10-15 minutes than it is in 25-30 minutes.
- Music
Tonight’s grades:
- Crowd: Average – several 1st time visitors, it was very average in amount (55ish), but much higher than this time last year (from the beginning of April until the end of the school year last year we were struggling to break 50 & had several nights in the 30s
- Game: No game tonight
- Music: Above Average – doing the music last tonight really worked; we also started off w/ slow songs & steadily moved to fast songs; it was cool ending the night/school year singing It’s All Because of Jesus
- Talk: Above Average; it was short & sweet, but I think also effective perhaps due to its shortness & simplicity. I posted the notes here.
Ken worshiped w/ us tonight.
The band came over to our house to eat Chimneyville & celebrate a great year of youth worship services.
Its now time to start working on the youth worship series for the Fall. I’ve got 3 ideas in my head & will hopefully have the outlines & artwork done in a by the end of June.
I’ll post pictures in a few minutes & perhaps video tomorrow sometime.
